Accomplishment Report (January – March 2008)

Marketing and Promotions
1. Provided assistance to a Malaysian group on Jan. 6 re: golfing tour in Clark.
2. Conduct of fam trip of Mr. Pua Chua of Malaysia re: tour packages for Clark, Subic and Manila.
3. Conduct of fam trip of DepEd special children (children with disabilities) to Doulos floating book fair on Jan 9, Subic Bay Freeport with Alvin delos Reyes and Erwin Tamayo as in charge.
4. Conduct of exploration tour to the hills of Bamban in Tarlac on Jan 18 to identify new route to the crater of Mt. Pnatubo with Alvin delos Reyes and Erwin Tamayo as lead personnel with staff of Bamban LGU in attendance.
5. Conduct of Aurora Investment Summit on Jan 24-26 at Fort Stotsenberg Hotel, Clark Freeport Zone sponsored by Senator Edgardo Angara and the provincial government of Aurora.
6. Promotion of the Shrine of the Holy Cross in the Monasterio de Tarlac during the month of January to attract more visitors to the province. Staff composed of Lana Henson proceeded to the site on Jan 30 attend a special celebration.
7. Holding of the Ibon-Ebon Festival on Jan 2 – 3 in Candaba, Pampanga with President Arroyo and over 3,000 people in attendance. DOT provided financial assistance to the event.
8. Conduct of the 12th Phil. Intl. Hot-Air Balloon Festival on Feb 7 – 10 at Clark Freport Zone, Pampanga with over 20 international balloon pilots participating. The festival was initiated by the department in 1994 to transform Clark into an aero-sporting destination.
9. TV coverage of Nueva Ecija and Mt. Pinatubo Spa Town on Feb 8 with staff Karen Maliwat in-charge.
10. Conduct of focus group discussion on retirement villages in the region as a major destination on Feb 22 at Clark Museum, Clark, Pampanga.
11. Conduct of Caragan Festival on Feb 28 in Mabalacat, Pampanga with Lana Henson as officer-in-charge. The department provided financial assistance to the event.
12. Conduct of arts festival in Bataan on Feb 28 with Lana Henson as officer-in-charge.
13. Launching of the Metro Clark Visitors Bureau on Feb 28 at Fontana Convention Center, Clark, Pampanga. The visitors bureau was organized by the Manila North Tollways Corp. to enhance travel and tourism along the North Luzon Expressway.
14. Inaugural flight of Hong Kong Express on Mar 5 at DMIA, Clark, Pampanga.
15. Presentation of Rd Tiotuico with the Sanggunian of Bamban, Tarlac on Mar 10 re: proposed Mt. Pinatubo Kabuhayan sa Turismo Program for the Bamban-Pinatubo route.
16. Conduct of sales mission of the delegation from the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Pampanga (HARP) to Kuala Lumpur on Mar 14-16 re: participation in the Malaysian Association of Tours and Travel Agencies or MATTA Intl. Tourism Fair. The regional office provided support to the mission.
17. Inaugural opening of the SCTex on Mar 18 by President Arroyo re: free access to the general public from Mar 18 – 24.
18. Conduct of filming/coverage of i-Cable TV crew, 360 Media Production, and John Oates (UK) on Mar 21 (Holy Week) of the crucifixion in Cutud, San Fernando, Pampanga. The crew also covered the Blasting of Judas Iscariot in St. Tomas, Pampanga.

Planning and Development
1. Meeting of the regional core group on retirement industry on Jan 8 at DTI-RIII.
2. Exploration and identification of new product on Jan 11 re: new trail to Mt. Pinatubo via Bamban, Tarlac.
3. Identification of new product: retirement villages as new travel destinations in Central Luzon.
4. Meeting on retirement industry on Jan 21 at DTI-RIII to finalize activities during the summit.
5. Conduct of meeting of Central Luzon Tourism Council on Jan 28 at the DOT-RIII office re: schedule of activities for 2008.
6. Invited a Korean investor to rebuild Bataan Hilltop in the Bataan Economic Zone. Site inspection was held on Jan 30 to explore the potential of the community.
7. Re-identification of Mt. Tapulao as an ecotourism destination on Jan 31 with Erwin Tamayo as the officer-in-charge. The exploration team was composed of members of the Advocacy for Central Luzon (ADCL) led by businessman Rene Romero.
8. Planning session on the homecoming of former seminarians of Mother of Good Counsel Seminar, San Fernando, Pampanga on Feb 2 with RD Tiotuico as the chairman on promotions.
9. Planning for the promotion of Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTex) on Feb 13 with Presidential Assistant Rely Fajardo as lead person.
10. Conduct of Tourism Awareness Seminar on Feb 20-21 in Bataan for member of the local tourism councils with Bataan tourism officer Sarsi Cuayson as the proponent.
11. Conduct of meeting with members of the Association of Travel Agencies of Pampanga (ATAP) on March 3 re: unification of two organizations (e.g. NAITAS, PATS).
12. Internet connection of Smart Bro on Mar 3 at the regional office in Paskuhan to replace previous internet service provider.
13. Conduct of Tourism Awareness Seminar on Mar 4-5 in Bataan with tourism officer Sarsi Cuayson in charge.
14. Ongoing construction of the Interactive Map project of the region during the month to enable tourists to obtain road maps online.
15. Attendance in the Seminar on Community-based Rural Tourism in Cebu City on Mar 26-28 at Marriott Hotel.
16. Fam trip of the members of the Pampanga Press Club on Mar 28-30 in Iba. Zambales as sponsored by the regional office.

1. Represented Secretary Durano as sponsor in a wedding in Palayan City on Jan. 3, Divine Mercy Chapel.
2. Meeting for the hot-air balloon festival, Jan. 4 RD Tiotuico was represented by Lana Henson.
3. RD Tiotuico attended meeting on Jan 7 in Candaba for the Ibon-Ebon Festival.
4. RD Tiotuico attended meeting of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Pampanga (HARP) on Jan 9 re: schedule of activities for 2008.
5. Meeting with ABC Hotel on Jan 9 re: donation of computers to public elementary schools.
6. Meeting of Central Luzon Regional Officers on Jan 14 at DILG-RIII re: awarding of CESO certificates.
7. Delivered ten (10) desktop IBM computers (P3), printer, copier and laptop to the DepEd Special Education (children with disabilities) on Jan 15 in Angeles City. The computer units were donated by ABC Hotel for the purpose of alleviating the plight of the disadvantaged.
8. Meeting on the proposed retirement industry on Jan 16 at DTI-RIII to discuss the potential of the industry in region III.
9. RD Tiotuico was designated as Officer-In-Charge of TSRO in Manila on Jan 17-25 in lieu of Usec Oscar Palabyab who was on official trip abroad.
10. Delivered ten (10) desktop IBM computers (P3) plus printer on Jan 22 in Sta. Teresita Elementary School, Angeles City with Alvin delos Reyes, Erwin Tamayo, Peter Guzman and Nards Gonzales in charge. The computer units were donated by ABC Hotel.
11. Rd Tiotuico lectured on the potentials of Aurora as an ecotourism destination during the tourism summit on Jan 24-26 in Clark, Pampanga.
12. RD Tiotuico attended the meeting of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Pampanga on Jan 30 re: participation of the association during the hot-air balloon festival.
13. Meeting on retirement industry on Feb 5 at DTI-RIII
14. Committee hearing on the proposed Clark Medical Tourism facility on Feb 5 at Batasan Pambansa in Quezon City.
15. Delivery of ten (10) IBM computers (P3) with printer to Lourdes Northwest Elementary School, Angeles City on Feb 15 with staff Alvin delos Reyes, Erwin Tamayo, Peter Guzman in charge.
16. RD Tiotuico was designated as officer-in-charge of TSRO in Manila on Feb 27-29 in lieu of Usec Oscar Palabyab who was on official trip abroad.
17. Meeting of HARP on Mar 5 at Yats Wine Club, Clark, Pampanga re: Malaysian travel mission
18. Meeting with Mayor Loenardo Anunciacion of Bamban on Mar 6 re: Mt. Pinatubo trail in Bamban.
19. Orientation seminar for frontliners of Manila North Tollways Corp. on Mar 12 at Marlim Mansions Hotel. The seminar is aimed to provide information to toll frontliners for the Holy Week for the benefit of commuters along the expressway.
20. Delivered ten (10) IBM computers (P3) with printer to Nepomuceno Elementary School, Angeles City on Mar 10. The computers were donated by ABC Hotel.
21. Meeting with Congressman Jeci Lapus on Mar 13 in Congress re: Mt. Pinatubo access trail.
22. Meeting of the Tarlac Visitors Bureau on Mar 14 re: SCTex inauguration and free access to the public during the Hoy Week.
23. Delivered ten (10) IB computers (P3) with printer to the Tinio Elementary School, Angeles City on Mar 17. The computer units were donated by ABC Hotel.
