Dear Applicant:

SUBJECT: NEW DOT ELECTRONIC ACCREDITATION PROCEDURES

Since the online accreditation program of the Department of Tourism is the first step towards a truly wireless and paperless government transaction procedure, all applicants for accreditation - whether NEW and RENEWAL - are required to undergo a uniform process in the electronic registration for all tourism-related establishments as required by the National Tourism Act of 2009.

Use either of these two portals to secure your official accreditation: www.tourism.gov.ph or www.visitmyphilippines.com (click on “Accreditation” on the left-hand menu)

This means that everyone is required to complete the easy 3-step process, namely: 1) CLASSIFY, 2) SELF-ASSESS and 3) FILL-OUT FORM. The process is quite simple. First, identify the category or classification to which your establishment belongs (hotel, travel agency, resort, etc.) by pointing to the right category. Second, take the YES or NO test to find out if your establishment and its facilities, services and amenities conform with the preliminary standards of accreditation of the department. If not, you don't have to continue the process. Third, continue by filling out the application form online (make sure all applicable entries are typed in) and click the SUBMIT button.

Upon receipt of your duly accomplished application form, the system will automatically provide you with your exclusive USERNAME and PASSWORD thru the email address that you submitted online (use only valid email address). Wait within 24-hours for this step to take place. Upon receipt of your username and password, you are advised to log on again on the tourism portal and sign in on the EXISTING USERS box to continue the process. You will then be required to upload all the necessary documents to accompany your previously accomplished application form (e.g. Articles of Incorporation, Mayor's Permit, List of Employees, etc.). Please use your scanning device to complete this process. Scanning and uploading your documents may take longer than expected depending on your connection speed. The system will reject incomplete submission of documents or false statements.

The system will then complete the process by sending a team to conduct an ocular inspection of your facilities and amenities. Log on again to view the result of your inspection.

As government auditing rules precludes payment online, applicants are required to proceed personally to the regional office for payment of accreditation fees, ID cards and stickers including issuance of official receipt. Thereupon, you may log on to download your certificate of accreditation for printing. An electronic notification will automatically inform you of your renewal the following year.

All this is meant to transform the DOT accreditation scheme into a seamless electronic transaction procedure as required by the E-commerce Law. If you have any questions, please call the regional office (accreditation Division) in your own locality or email us at [email protected] (or for those based in Central Luzon, call Mr. Alvin delos Reyes or Erwin Tamayo, Tel. No. (045) 961-2612 / 961-5617 or Mobile 0908-927-3302 (Alvin) / 0920-287-9032 (Erwin).

Henceforth, the regional office will no longer accept personal submission of application forms and supporting documents from applicants. You will only proceed to our office when you pay your accreditation fees.

Whenever you're ready with your complete documents, scanning devise and Internet connection, please click on the link (in red) below.

Hope to see you online.

Very truly yours,
